IssuesTransportation

Here in the 26th LD we know we still have work to do when it comes to Transportation. Joy and her husband both commute across the Tacoma Narrows bridge every day for work, so she knows firsthand how time is taken away from families and how much toll bills can add up. Her family often experiences a toll bill of $15 per day! This can add up for families. Joy has also experienced commuting to and from Seattle for 5 years. Two and a half hours each way in traffic is not the way people should be using their time. Joy will work to reduce the time and cost of commuting by working directly with Pierce County Transit to create innovative options for our neighbors on the Key Peninsula to increase public transit options, create more reliable bus schedules and routes, and prioritize infrastructure projects like improving our highways. Joy will advocate for the completion of the Hwy 302 to 16 study, rural broadband funding, and extending the carpool lane from the Narrows Bridge to Bangor Naval Base.
